What it is

Find the fault. Keep the trim on.

The Power Probe PPECT3000 is the full electronic circuit tracer kit — the same intelligent transmitter and digital receiver as the ECT3000B, plus the complete set of connection adapters in a hard carrying case. Locate short circuits, open circuits and breaks without removing panels, molding, trim or carpet; the receiver leads you to the fault with visual navigation and audible tones, on 12–24V DC systems.

// Function 01
Trace Shorts
Follow shorts to ground with direction-to-fault LEDs
// Function 02
Find Opens
Locate open circuits and breaks behind trim
// Function 03
Battery Drains
Track parasitic current draw to its source
// Function 04
Intermittent
Wiggle/flex test flags intermittent contacts
Features & functions
  • Locates short-to-ground faults, open circuits, switches and breaks in wiring without dismantling the interior
  • Intelligent transmitter + digital receiver guide you to the fault with LED direction indicators and audible tones
  • 8 sensitivity levels (~1–8 in / 3–20 cm) pinpoint the fault even in dense wire bundles
  • Full adapter set injects the signal at fuse panels, bulb sockets, connectors (back-probe) or directly through insulation (piercing probe)
  • Trace parasitic battery drains and severe current draws back to their source
  • Circuit Wiggle & Flex Test and Tone On/Off help catch intermittent conditions
  • Works alongside Power Probe III, IV or Hook for direct-contact verification — the 4 kHz tone is audible through those testers
  • Supplied in a hard carrying case; standard 4 mm banana jacks accept other test leads and adapters
Computer-safe: the signal lead is limited to 100 mA to protect sensitive vehicle modules — still, unplug electronic modules before short-circuit verification.
