What it is
Drive the circuit. Find the fault.
The Power Probe PPPWM is a PWM signal generator built as a plug-in adapter tip. Fit it into the 4mm banana tip of a compatible Power Probe circuit tester and it outputs a pulse-width-modulated drive signal with an adjustable duty cycle. Ramp a cooling fan, blower motor, actuator or solenoid up and down from the buttons to confirm it responds, and isolate the faulty part of a DC circuit before you repair or replace it.

Features & functions
- Plug-in PWM drive output: turns a compatible Power Probe circuit tester into a variable PWM source through the 4mm banana tip
- Adjustable duty cycle from 5% to 100% set with up/down buttons, at a switching frequency above 22kHz with ±2% accuracy
- Output rated up to 10A to power real loads such as cooling and blower motors, fuel pumps, solenoids and actuators
- Backlit LCD shows the set duty cycle; a voltage mode displays the supply (press Up and Down together to switch)
- Built-in protection: Er1 overheat trip on prolonged high-current use and Er0 ground-fault warning that disables output until grounding is corrected
- Powered by the host Power Probe (12V through the tip) with no separate battery to charge or replace
Send a signal, not just power: instead of only back-probing for voltage, command a component through its range at a controlled duty cycle to prove whether it, or its circuit, is at fault.
