What it is
Test CAN Bus circuits. Access all 16 OBD2 pins.
The Power Probe PPECB is an OBD2 breakout box and CAN Bus circuit tester for 12V and 24V vehicles. Connect it to the 16-pin OBD-II diagnostic port to check supply, grounds and CAN High/Low activity. Read individual pin voltages on the built-in voltmeter and keep your scan tool connected while investigating communication faults.
// Function 01
Check the DLC
Inspect supply and grounds before connecting the scan tool.
// Function 02
Check CAN Bus
View CAN High/Low activity and other supported signals.
// Function 03
Read each pin
Select individual pin voltages on the built-in voltmeter.
// Function 04
Monitor voltage
Hear a low-voltage warning during module programming.
Features & functions
- Investigate no-communication faults with access to all 16 OBD-II pins for multimeter or oscilloscope measurements.
- Leave the scanner attached through the pass-through connection while checking the vehicle's electrical signals.
- Read the selected pin voltage with 0.1V resolution. SELECT cycles through pins; RESET returns to battery supply on pin 16.
- Investigate CAN Bus communication faults: LEDs indicate activity on CAN High (pin 6) and CAN Low (pin 14), with accessible sockets for further multimeter or oscilloscope checks.
- Identify reversed polarity at ground pins 4 and 5: their indicators change from green to red.
- Monitor battery voltage during programming, with an audible warning below 11.8V on 12V systems or 23.6V on 24V systems.
- Locate the vehicle DLC with the connector's push-button light and reach it with the attached 0.8m OBD cable.
Use the indicators to guide diagnosis: LEDs show electrical activity, not decoded messages or fault codes. Check the vehicle's pin assignments when interpreting manufacturer-specific signals. The PPECB monitors voltage during programming; it does not program modules or maintain battery charge.
