What it is
Two tools. One diagnostic workflow.
The Power Probe 3 Master Combo Kit pairs the classic Power Probe 3 (PP3) circuit tester with the PPECT3000 Electronic Circuit Tracer and a full adapter set in a hard carry case. The PP3 powers and measures components; the ECT3000 locates the physical position of shorts and open circuits inside the harness — without removing panels, carpet or moulding.

Features & functions
- Power Probe 3 supplies battery power or ground at the probe tip to functionally test motors, lamps, relays and solenoids — on or off the vehicle
- Digital voltmeter reads 0 to 70V DC with min/max capture, backed by red/green polarity LEDs
- Two-level continuity to ground (LCD <20kΩ, green LED <600Ω) plus audible tone pass-through from 10Hz to over 10kHz to listen to sensor signals
- Peak detector captures positive and negative transient events down to 1ms pulse width
- PPECT3000 tracer locates shorts to ground, open circuits and breaks behind panels, carpet or moulding
- Adjustable receiver sensitivity (1–8 in / 3–20 cm) to zero in on the exact fault location
- The ECT3000's 4kHz tone is audible directly through the PP3 for side-by-side use
- Full adapter set — bulb, universal, alligator, blade, back-probe, piercing probe and auxiliary ground extension — in a hard carry case
8A manual-reset breaker: the PP3's thermal circuit breaker protects the tool and the vehicle's wiring from accidental shorts, with live bad-ground and short-circuit indicators.
